Intuitive learning methods

  • Forget numbers and counting… Rather than taking your brain out of creativity with logic, we use a learning model that keeps your brain within its creative mode which makes learning music easier than 1, 2, 3.

  • Our teachers are trained to empower through music. Which means that our education model is focused on positivity and reinforcement. Our model meets people where they’re at and gives them the tools they need to overcome obstacles.

High quality materials

  • With the help of our generous donors, we’re able to supply high quality instruments and materials for students within our programs.

  • We use tech to improve the learning experience. Our virtual classroom Muzie accommodates all remote lessons, and keeps recordings all in one place for future reference.

Industry expertise

  • You bring your rhythm and beat, we’ll meet you with the equipment and expertise.

  • If an in-person lesson, or group environments don’t work for you, we have remote learning options from our virtual classroom setting.

360 Jam Program

  • Duration: 16 weeks (1 hr sessions)

or 8 weeks (2 hr sessions)

We at Empower Through Music believe that access to music lessons should be as commonplace as everyday household items. ETM makes learning an instrument simple and possible for everyone regardless of barrier.

Our 16 week program is broken up into 4 modules that ensure participants are exposed to a multitude of inspiring musical resources. Students are encouraged to discover the musical elements and instruments that resonate most deeply.

  • ETM sends a pod of three highly trained instructors into your classroom or community classroom and provides all of the musical equipment required.

The initial session features a short meet-and-greet with an emphasis placed on creating a fun, creative and safe environment for the students to begin exploring music as a team.

Students are then split up into 3 cohorts based on their preferred instrument choices. Each cohort contains between 3-6 students.

One ETM pod of 3 teachers can manage a total class size of 9 to 18 students. For larger class sizes of over 18 students we will add a 4th instructor.

  • Each cohort is assigned to an instrument type for 4 concurrent weekly sessions.

    •Cohort 1 : Drums & Percussion

    •Cohort 2: Keyboards

    •Cohort 3: Strings (Guitars/Ukuleles/Bass)

After 4 sessions, the cohorts will switch to the next instrument. After 12 weeks each cohort will have experienced all three instrument types and will be encouraged to pick their favourite to focus on for the remainder of the program.

The final 4 sessions build up towards a live performance where the entire class participates. ETM encourages regular communication and planning with guardians and regular caregivers to ensure students’ unique needs and best interests are being met.

ETM donates all the musical equipment to your classroom or community class so that students can continue to enjoy the benefits of musical therapy anytime it’s appropriate. We also provide regular followup to ensure students are supported in their continued musical journey.

Students at this point are encouraged to participate in one-on-one lessons to further their relationship and skill development on their primary instrument of choice.

  • Our donation to each classroom consists of the following items:

    •2 Acoustic guitars

    •2 Electric guitars & amps

    •2 Ukuleles

•1 Electric bass guitar & amp

    •4 Digital keyboards

•1 Electronic drum set and amp

•3 Hand drum or percussion instruments

•All the cables, picks, replacement strings, music documents and miscellaneous items required to keep the donated gear operational.

We are looking for passionate teachers to partner with. Help your students discover their inherent musical language.
